View or download one of the formats from the links above for the full scheduleĪt the end of April there’s a two-day stretch in which the Giants and A’s both play on the same day. And maybe, just maybe, things will feel normal enough next year for fans to feel comfortable making trips. Supplemented data? Features? Look for that in the coming months. Plus there will be additional things to look for as the data is supplemented (game times, metadata) and I decide to add features. This time I have taken steps to automate data gathering and assembly so it can be repeated more readily on an annual basis. I recognized that when I usually do this every August/September, I re-engineer how I work with the data, making it a slightly custom effort every time. Hope springs eternal for 2022 though, right? Right?Īnyway, here it is. Mostly it was due to my unease with traveling during the pandemic. If you were paying attention, you’ll know that the 2021 edition was delayed. During these recent dog days I started playing around with next year’s Travel Grid. THANK YOU THANK YOU Kirby Paquette, can't wait to try these any longer.Well, the A’s season may be slipping away with three weeks left in the season – after Sunday’s game their elimination number is 14 – so it’s near time to look forward to next spring even as that itself is quite daunting. I am thrilled that someone who knows what they are doing in scheduling made this terrific set of schedules.įYI, I started working from the back forward, basically, scheduling the last month first in order to guarantee the divisional rivalry games coming down to the wire, but then I started getting hung up on some of the travel ramifications, although I should have ignored this altogether for my starting effort, since the game's sim wouldn't factor any of that into players/teams performances, and my primary aim was just to balance the competition that each team faced during the year.ĭownloading & leaving now to try these out. I might revisit my effort later, but I'm gonna fire up this set of schedules in my MLB Fantasy league and run several sims to see how well it balances out. I hadn't logged in since Christmas, instead thrashing away in an Excel spreadsheet manually moving blocks of games around to the point of driving myself mad. I randomized the 10 Schedules in the end. To balance the home and away series in Intra-League, I made 5 mirror image Schedules of the first 5. To make sure that each team plays 4 games against each parental division rivals, I made 5 Schedules. It is not perfect but after spending lot of time on this, I was pretty satisfied. I could not also fit most of the intra-division games during weekends. I could not fit division rivals playing each other in September but the second part of the season (After the All-Star break) is well loaded with intra-division games. Days off are either Mondays or Thursdays. The season span over 26 weeks including the all-star break. These are new 162 games schedules for 30 teams in 2 Sub-Leagues, each Sub-Leagues with 3 divisions of 5 teams.Įvery team plays 14 games against the 4 division rivals (4-3//4-3), 6 games against the other 10 teams of the sub-league (3//3), 3 games against 14 teams of the other sub-league and 4 games against 1 team of the other league in the parental division (2//2).
